Project Description
The Hayward Area Recreation and Parks District completed the Fibar Installation Project at 58 play areas in parks District-Wide. Fibar is an engineered wood product, which serves as safety surfacing in many playgrounds. With frequent use and displacement over time, fibar levels occasionally need to be supplemented. The project provided additional fibar at play areas to levels which were predetermined by the height of existing play equipment. With the completion of the project, each play area has upgraded accessible paths of travel and is filled to meet impact attenuation requirements. The fibar installation has improved the appearance of our play areas and provides a safe environment for children to enjoy.
