A 3.1 acre acquisition of the open space around Laurel Elementary School, including asphalt and playfields. With the school slated for surplus by Hayward Unified School District (HUSD), HARD acquired the open space areas while the current charter school works, Hayward Twin Oaks Montessori, completes their relocation to a new campus.
The north field will be repurposed into a neighborhood park, available to public. The southern play areas will be renovated and continue to be accessible for school children during school days.
